Biking alone through Iran, Michelle’s story…
Posted by WynD on June 30, 2008
I think of all the people who have not been so supportive of my trip to Iran and then I think of my friend Michelle. She is currently biking through Iran, by herself, roosari and all. She will have been there for two months and be preparing to leave for home by the time I arrive, but I hope to meet up with her for a few moments before she leaves. : )
She doesn’t know this, but when I hear all the nay-sayers talk about my plans, I mention her. How she is a single woman making this trip on her own, for the second time in her life. She feels safe and welcomed by the Iranian people, always positive about her experiences. I can only hope to be half as courageous as her and have half the experiences she has had. I say courageous not because she is a single, American woman traveling to the “ill-fated,” “Axis of Evil” Iran, but because she has made such a bold, independent move at all. I would say the same about her being courageous if she travelled by bike for two months in America or Ireland. However, to take on a country that most Americans I encounter distrust and see through media-biased eyes, kudos to her.
May she be successful in spreading American goodwill and ambassadorship throughout the great, historic land of Iran. I already know, from reading her blog that she is having the time of her life.
I encourage you to begin reading her musings as she travels across the great Persian empire!

I will check-out Michelle’s blog. I’m always interested in people making their own way in life.
I’m sorry you have encountered some interference w/your decision to travel to Iran. Hopefully, those nay-sayers will come around and support you…
THANK YOU for sharing this blog. I hope it’s okay if I link to you from mine. If you’d prefer I didn’t, just let me know.
I think the fact that you’re going to Iran is awesome! Get out there and LIVE LIFE!
Hugs,
Stepher
